  • Giving Your Go-Giver Story

Published December 14th, 2008 by Thom Scott

    Hi Folks,

“Coach” Thom here. While it’s been great to just sit back and read all the wonderful posts here by Bob and John, I wanted to take a moment as we close out this year to personally express my gratitude and share an idea with you that will take a few moments of participation in order to truly bless others (and it won’t cost you a dime).

First, I can’t adequately express how thankful I am to you, our growing community of Go-Givers, for embracing this “little red gem.” Bob and John did a phenomenal job writing it, but it takes more than great ideas and beautiful prose to transcend literary accolades to become a true movement within the business community. It takes readers who not only believe in the power of The Five Laws, but also decide to bring this belief to higher levels of ACTION. That is exactly what you have done.

Sure, your spreading the word caused The Go-Giver to cross the 100,000 mark within the first 10 months. It created interest that resulted in literally hundreds of interviews, reviews and blog postings. Your excitement has even started a worldwide phenomenon with The Go-Giver now in print in 16 languages.

However, while The Go-Giver’s commercial success is certainly exciting, what I’m most thankful for is the fact that so many have used its principles to improve their lives AND the lives of those they connect with. That is both exciting and deeply fulfilling. So, from the bottom of my heart (as well as Bob, John and the rest of The Go-Giver team) THANK YOU!

Now, about that idea I mentioned … As you know from The Go-Giver, the 4th Law of Stratospheric Success is the Law of Authenticity – The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. This holiday season, I’d like to ask you to give the gift of yourself to others in our growing Go-Giver community.

As we’ve been thinking of all we are thankful for this year, one of the things at the top of our list has been all the many wonderful “Go-Giver” stories we’ve received from our readers. Sharing these stories with others has been touching and very powerful.

So, I’m asking you to send your “Go-Giver” story to us so we can share it within our community as well as with others to create an even larger wave in this dynamic movement.

If you’ve got a “Go-Giver” story that you’d like to share, please take a moment to jot it down and email it to gogiverstories@gmail.com by the end of next Sunday, December 21st. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 100 words or 500 words. It can even be a link to video you’ve created. The point is that it shares how you or someone you know has acted on the message of The Go-Giver and what the results have been.

I know our audience well enough to know that you certainly wouldn’t expect anything for this. However, I’d still like to give you a token of our appreciation. So, for anyone that does send in a brief story or video, I’ll be giving you a special audio gift from Bob and myself – a tele-seminar about using social media to help you survive and thrive in the current economic climate.

ALSO, if your story is selected as one of the top 3, you’ll receive FREE tickets to the Extreme Business Makeovers event April 24-26, 2009 in Orlando, Florida … AND the one chosen as the very best will also receive FREE hotel accommodations during the event as well!

Like I said, I know that you don’t expect a reward for the gift of your authenticity, but we’d still like to show our appreciation.

So, please get that story or video to us this week.

Once again, THANK YOU for being the Go-Giver that you are! It has been a privilege and pleasure to serve you behind the scenes this year as we’ve worked to get the message out.

Wishing you many blessings and all the best this Holiday Season!

    “Coach” Thom Scott
